32 Principles That Lead To Happiness Use This Book For Continual Evolution The Key To Effective Problem Solving
|
Effective Use Of Your Time If our attention is the way that we can direct our
power, time is the way our attention is organised. It enables us to see
cause and effect. Yet in reality it is only an illusion. An illusion we
believe while our attention is directed towards the more superficial
layers Often people want to increase the length of their
life. What they really want is to experience more. By increasing the
velocity of their experiences they can have the same experiences… and
experience 140 or 210 years worth of life in just 70 years. It is critical to your happiness that you make effective use of your time. We all have the same amount of time. And it is the use of your time that determines the quality of your life. It's the difference between success and failure, happiness and misery. Two people could spend twenty years in a relationship and have them be twenty years of hell or twenty years of bliss. The key is to spend your time on those things that bring you passion and excitement rather than those that dull and bore you. Sometimes people talk of the difference between Residual or Passive income streams and Earned or Active. Basically if you work at a job or you sell your services you get paid for the hours you work. This is Active or Earned income. If you create a product that once its created…you can sell without spending any more time on, that’s Residual or Passive income. This concept also applies to us as Individuals in how we spend our time and attention. Everyone has to grow or they’ll get swamped and buried by life growing over them. Throughout your life you will have heartache, frustrations and disappointments. There are two ways people approach these. You can identify with this because you are probably reading this book for one of two basic reasons. Reason 1 Perhaps there is something in your life causing pain for you and you are looking for a way to heal it. Most people do this and once the pain has gone they wait for another pain before they do anything else. This is Active or Earned growth. This way you’ll have more problems and you won’t build up a great deal of momentum. Reason 2 Or perhaps you worked out that by continually growing you could prevent many problems from even showing up in your life. This can create a snowball effect so that you grow at a compounded rate. You still have to work at it… but the return on your time invested is much greater than if you only worked when Life prodded you into it. You can move from Reason 1 to Reason 2 by focusing on the following question. This will have the effect of putting you in control of your life. Meaning that you don’t get bounced around by life and so eliminate stress, frustration and misery, while creating joy, passion and excitement. If you were to rank your life experiences on a scale of 1-10, some of your life experience would be 1 and others 10. Why would you settle for less than 10? If you focused your attention on this question sufficiently, it would stimulate you to wake up every morning determined to make that day’s experiences a 10. As your focus zoomed in on more rewarding life experiences, you’d get more of those. We’ll close this chapter with a way I have explained this concept that has worked powerfully for many people.
This is how focus works in your life. You see more detail in whatever you focus on. Each separate detail will create different feelings in you. Life has everything. The full 360 degrees of experience. Good and bad. Rich and poor. Pain and pleasure. Happiness and depression. And so to does each individual you encounter. They have the potential to show you the best of them, or the worst of them. To bring you pleasant or unpleasant interactions. And so too does every situation have the potential to be seen by you in a positive context or in a negative context. You are free to focus on whatever you choose. . Whatever you choose will determine your life experience. Next: Trust In God |
