Thanks for sharing your story Kelly. What we are at the core of our being is all that matters and all the other labels are meaningless.

I think you demonstrate the need to be willing to be authentic whatever anyone else thinks and be willing to be true to yourself, regardless of the worldly cost.

The harder path through life is the one that shapes and strengthens us most. Your path and those of others like you is changing the world's labels and structures. In their place we will have a more accepting and supportive world.

Hi, I just found your website & so far you've said some valid things, good content. I'm 55 and have lived a miserable life of not quite fitting in the role(s) expected of me by family & society and not for lack of trying. I've had limited success, more failures than accomplishments but i just think of all that as experience and learn from it. I finally admitted to myself why I was having such a difficult time at life. You see my gender isn't what my body portrays. I'm female gender in a male sexed body. A lifetime of denial has left me very damaged and healing as I come to grips with my reality. Because the way society is bent, I don't see this as a making my life much easier because being myself flies in the face of the bible and western religions. So I have to be doubly strong, wear an even thicker skin, and just ignore the rest of the world's gossip. It is not so difficult because when you know yourself you become empowered. I am unique and very special. I am a great person and that comes through to most people. I live in a 95% positive environment because I create it with everyone I meet. And believe me that isn't an easy task in the bible belt of Canada. Never wanted to be diversity in the face of adversity but I suppose that is what I've become. My siblings don't understand. tomorrow after 18 months of virtually no communication I will meet with my sister to discuss "things". I've learned when it comes to gender identity that people just are who they say they are and no one has the right to impose external measuring sticks to question or qualify another person's gender. No one can know another persons gender better than that person. It is doubtful my family will ever change but I will keep challenging them. Just being myself does that. Your words of wisdom have affirmed the feelings I have had lately, how I have been thinking and my thoughts about what I have learned in articles I've read recently. Thank you for putting up this website. I'll check back and read more soon. - Kelly

I see it everyday! We ARE that so stuck in our social and mental patterns of behaviour that we’ve actually got it so back to front that we can’t understand how our passion filled lives have faded...

HAPPINESS, an elusive dream. You have made that statement passe with such a simple formula. "HAPPINESS=PASSIONATE LIVING-STRESS"..."It ís not that we need to learn how to be happy, we just have to learn to stop doing the things that make us unhappy...Whatever the form it takes, it ís stress and fear that hold us back from a happier life."
Many of us, me included, "pursue" happiness when after all it is within us. We look out for it but what we really see are the props. Thank you for sharing.

Thank you again. You have answered my question yet again I have not been myself. I am going to make it a rule to be myself and be happy. I say thanks everyday to God but I let things in life make me crazy and I forget that is not who I am not really.
