Nominate Your Hero Here

Have you ever thought how much of our time we spend criticising or moaning about others?

Then compare it to how much time we have spent praising and appreciating others.  

Unless you are a saint, you’ll probably find that you spend more time  focused on the what people do wrong than what they do right. Why is it our natural tendency to moan rather than acknowledge the positive aspects?

Anyway, whilst considering the topic of heroes we admire and what a hero is, I was struck by how many people had hero’s that I knew nothing about.  

Some were people who had achieved great accomplishments and so I could look up their name and learn about them.  But many people put people in their life, such as their parents, or friends or family members.

So while I was trying to connect the commonality between these Hero’s, I was struck by a thought.  Why not build out a section of this website devoted to recognising heroes?  

On the one hand this creates a space to publicly acknowledge and thank others for what they have done and build a presence for them online to last forever.  And then it also creates a gallery of inspiration for us in our own lives.  

So much of our lives is filled with bad news and negativity from the media that it gives us a misleading impression of the world.  There is much good and much bad in the world.  However economically, bad news sells much better.  Fear grips our attention.  And so our perceptions are distorted towards the world being a darker place than it really is.  But we can change that here.  

One of the most positive influences the Internet is having on us, is that inspiring and positive messages and videos can now be spread around the world quickly and easily.  We are no longer beholden to the media gatekeepers determining what we see.  

By creating an oasis of inspiration here, we can create a space where when we face those tough moments when we feel alone or challenged, we can take some comfort and strength from the achievements of others.
