Your mind flits from one panicked thought to the next. Yet nothing seems to get done. Certainly not quickly enough to stem the continual flood of pressures.
And so the underlying feeling of panic, just gets stronger and stronger.
And when people tell you to calm down, to relax. It just makes you more and more wound up.
Here’s Why You Need To Manage Stress
Millions of years of evolution have designed us to react in a way that creates stress. And if you’re more intelligent than average, if you’re someone that cares and someone that wants to make a difference in the world, then you are a ticking stress bomb waiting to explode.

Once you understand what stress is, how it effects you and how to control it, stuff that used to stress you can become the source of your motivation and sense of fulfilment. You just have to stop reacting automatically and start to manage your stress and your emotional responses.
You see, in a panic filled state of mind, the situations in your life seem to be causing the stress you feel. It seems that if you could just straighten these out, the stress would go. But actually the truth is that stress makes it almost impossible to deal effectively with stuff.
You see, living with stress is like trying to run a bath, with the plug out. As quick as you put water in, more leaks out. Whilst you are stressed, your energy, your creativity and your peace of mind are slipping through your fingers. And so the chances of resolving the problems that are panicking you right now, become less and less likely.
The fact is, when we feel stressed, anxious and panic, we are in no fit state to be dealing with anything. Think about it, would you hand your precious new born Baby to a wide eyed, raving Lunatic?

If you were an Artist and spent 12 years crafting some beautiful, but fragile glass sculpture, would you let someone so stressed that they were incapable of being gentle, handle your work of art?
Surely, your life is as important to you as these?
And so the first objective in your life has to be, to manage your stress. Just as the first thing you do in running a bath is to make sure the plug is in. Then you are in a position to be able to best deal with the problems that seem to be causing your stress.
Why Stress Management Isn’t A Natural Response
The problem is that there is so much nonsense talked about stress and stress management. I have 300 pages of notes of Psychological research findings, I’ve studied the top ten selling books on stress management, I’ve searched the Internet high and low for someone with the solution to managing stress.
Yet no-one seems to really understand the nature of stress.
And all the advice on coping with stress, I’ve found up to now has been based on the idea that the only way to manage stress is to run away from it. Or get Employers and Governments to plan for every possible eventuality and wrap us up in cotton wool in a Big Brother State.
Screw that.
There isn’t good and bad stress. Stress just plain sucks.
However there is a germ of truth that they haven’t taken the time to work through to.
There are challenging situations. And there is a point where you get to decide how you will react. Do you take the challenge and respond heroically?
Do you grow to meet the challenge and so become a stronger, more capable person?
Or do you shrink in the face of it and crumble into a tensed coil.
Up until now, you’ve probably never looked at stress in this light. Instead everyone has implied that stressful situations were too big and scary for you to handle. And you needed protecting from them. Because our entire culture seems to believe that stress is an incurable disease, but it is absolutely curable and manageable.
